Next year we expect to have the greatest number of clients and the highest amount of revenue since we first envisioned the GrantsPlus business model of serving the not-for-profit community. And we will accomplish this with minimal expense on our part.

As with revenue from 230 West 41st Street LLC operations, GrantsPlus revenue helps defray a portion of RF operating costs, thereby enabling us to maintain fees at current levels. The GrantsPlus client list comprises:

• NYCRx makes available safe and effective medications at the lowest possible cost to all New Yorkers, especially those who are underserved.

• NYC LHVCC (New York City Lower Hudson Valley Clean Communities) encourages private and public sector businesses to convert fleets to use alternative fuels, alternative fuel vehicles, and advanced vehicles.

• NAMA Recovery is an organization of methadone and suboxone patients, healthcare profes-sionals, friends, and associates working together for greater public understanding and accep-tance of methadone treatment.

• The Louis Armstrong House Museum preserves and promotes the legacy of Louis Armstrong by operating the Louis Armstrong House (a national historic landmark) as a historic house museum, administering its monumental research collections, and presenting public programs (such as concerts and lectures) about Louis Armstrong.

• Newark Now was founded by Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker in 2003 to provide Newark residents with skills, tools, and support to transform their neighborhoods. Newark Now is an intermediary organization that partners with municipal government, residents, grassroots orga-nizations, and the philanthropic community to catalyze the achievement of significant positive outcomes throughout the city. The organization channels the efforts and energy of the grass-roots community to improve safety, economic independence, and civic participation. • Fair Housing Justice Center challenges systemic housing discrimination, promotes open and inclusive communities, and strengthens local, state and federal fair housing enforcement. • Seedco/Opportunity NYC Family Rewards is a privately funded pilot initiative that aims to help New Yorkers break the cycle of poverty.

It is no easy task to distill into a handful of paragraphs the role of the Research Foundation and its 12,000 employees, or to shoehorn into a handful of pages the accomplishments of our PIs. Nevertheless, we hope that this Annual Report offers a valuable present day glimpse into the world of sponsored programs, which is such a vital and growing facet of CUNY’s operations.
