The Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training (CHEST) of Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) is hiring for a full-time Staff Clinician. CHEST (www.chestnyc.org) is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research center which blends academic and community-based work focused on sexual health, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and substance use.
Responsibilities: The Staff Clinician will be responsible for delivering Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions in NIH-funded trials focusing on sexual behavioral health, substance use, and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. The Staff Clinician will work closely with the Deputy Clinical Director and Project Directors on day-to-day operations and will provide administrative assistance on study-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree in a mental health field (e.g., Psychology or Mental Health Counseling). Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is strongly preferred. Previous work providing counseling or support services to the LGBT population is highly desired as is experience with substance use treatment and experience with issues related to sexuality and sexual health. An ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Supervised treatment hours counting towards licensure offered for competitive candidates. Bilingual applicants (Spanish and English) are strongly encouraged to apply.
