General Description

Queensborough Community College's Division of Pre-College, Continuing Education & Workforce Development is looking for part-time Technology Instructors for its America's Promise CUNY TechWorks program in Applied Software Development, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. Through this Workforce Development Program, eligible students earn college credits in Engineering Technology, including Web Technology, Web Client Programming: JavaScript, Creating Smart Phone Apps and Introduction to C++ Program Design and Implementation. Students also participate in experientially-based non-credit workshops in Technology and Professional Skills while they are enrolled in credit courses. This career-focused program included Career Counseling as well as paid Internships and Job Placement for qualified students.

The part-time Technology Instructors will be responsible for working with America's Promise CUNY TechWorks students to prepare them for successful workplace opportunities. We are looking for Intructors with demonstrated experience and expertise in C++, Python and React, as well as other Technology areas, who are able to work experientially and and skillfully with our students in a collaborative learning environment. Please note that we are looking for several Instructors to teach workshops and qualified applicants will be considered for one or several workshops, depending upon their expertise. Workshops run 2-3 hours; this in not a semester-long position.

 

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching Technology to diverse student populations.
  • Outstanding Technology skills.
  • Excelllent Communication skills.
