General Description
The Elbaum-Garfinkle lab at the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) at the Graduate Center, CUNY, currently has an immediate opening for a highly organized Lab Manager/Research Associate.
The Elbaum-Garfinkle lab is an interdisciplenary team of scientists studying disordered proteins at the nexus of liquid phase separation and pathological aggregation. Using single-molecule fluorescence tools, material science methodology, and C. elegans genetics, our group probes the mechanism and regulation of protein self-assembly on the molecular, material and organismal levels.
Qualifications: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and post-graduate experience in a molecular biology wet lab is required. Experience with proteins, protein purification, microscopy and/or C. elegans are strongly preferred.
Duties: Will manage and supervise students in basic molecular biology/protein handling techniques in the lab; assist in general lab management, including managing lab stocks and supplies, lab ordering, lab safety, and streamlining lab protocols.
