Queens College is seeking a Head Women’s Basketball Coach. While this role is posted as full-time, we are open to both part-time and full-time candidates. The part-time position offers a salary of $35,000, where as the full-time position, which includes a dual-role opportunity within the department, offers a salary of $65,000. Both salaries are negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The Head Coach will be responsible for leading the program, planning and the development of the NCAA Division II basketball program competing in the East Coast Conference.

This position is responsible for but not limited to, the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes; individual instruction; team training; player management; organization of team non-competitive related activities such as community service activities, fundraising, and alumni events; and the overall oversite of the program that must abide by all NCAA, ECC, CUNY, and Queens College rules and regulations. This position will also be responsible for a team budget and the administrative paperwork associated with the program. Upon arrival to the department, the coach must successfully pass a NCAA recruiting exam, defensive driving exam, sexual harassment class and first aid/CPR.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record. Strong preference will be given to candidates with at least four years coaching experience at an NCAA, D1 or D2 institution. Candidates should have a history of successful win-loss records and/or successful transformation of a program. The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, knowledge of NCAA rules, established recruiting contacts and the ability to attract high quality student-athletes. The candidate should also have knowledge of and a commitment to NCAA rules and compliance, and also be familiar with Title IX requirements.
