General Description
Lead applied research projects in Technical Services team; Undertake various measurement & verification (M&V) efforts for the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Division of Energy Management (DEM), including prediction/quantification of energy savings & GHG emissions associated with projects implemented across DEM programs & partner agencies; Develop measurement guidance documents/training materials, provide tools/technical assistance to agency personnel for project planning, take project measurements & perform in-depth energy/building systems analyses; Develop standardized M&V protocols/procedures for Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) & Sequences of Operation (SOOs) related to Building Automation Systems (BAS); Develop coaching on M&V concepts/measurement techniques & conduct coaching sessions with specific agencies to address their unique building needs; Develop/implement various regression & forward modeling techniques for extrapolating short-term measurements into annual estimates of energy consumption; Conduct measurements/analyses to develop M&V findings for selected projects; Identify/document recommendations for improving program performance.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Energy/Sustainability or a related field.
Minimum 2-year experience with energy efficiency/low carbon projects & implementation of energy efficiency retrofit; Must be experienced with building mechanical systems, energy costs & energy savings/emissions calculations methodologies; In-depth understanding of building energy systems & energy efficiency technologies; Strong ability to read/interpret mechanical/electrical schematics/drawings; Familiar with technical project management operations, NYC infrastructure, electrical & energy codes; Proficient in MS Office Suite/Python. CEM Cert required.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
