General Description
We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in water resource recovery engineering and related fields. The successful candidate will join a multi-campus team focusing on a novel sensing technology to monitor emerging contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. The position will focus on technical considerations for deployment of sensors in real-world settings including drinking water treatment facilities, wastewater resource recovery facilities, and point-of-use water quality monitoring. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Experience with water quality sensors and laboratory analytical techniques is strongly preferred. A background working with public utilities is also preferred. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of publication and conference presentations, ability to work independently, and strong problem-solving skills. Needs to be prepared to liason with water utilities and private entities to promote the sensor and work towards commercialization.
Other Duties
Needs to be well-versed in Project management and task management responsibilities and be proficient in the use of appropriate software to support the project. Additionally, the candidate is expected to independently work on technical transfer of a prototype of Engineered Microbial Sensors for Emerging Contaminants to commercialization along with the Primary Investigator
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Experience with water quality sensors and laboratory analytical techniques is strongly preferred.
