General Description
Kingsborough Community College, Office of Continuing Education & Center for Workforce Development (CEWD), is seeking a part time experienced CompTIA A+ instructor to join our team. The instructor will teach a synchronous and remote non-credit course that will prepare learners to successfully pass the CompTIA A+ certification exam. The instructor should have a passion for training and supporting adult learners from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
Other Duties
- Provide hands-on instruction and practical training to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exams.
- Assist learners with CompTIA’s CertMaster Learning Management System (LMS) and supplemental resource materials (CertMaster Learn, Lab, and Practice)
- Monitor learner success and provide guidance as needed
- Maintain appropriate records of attendance
- Provide insight into career tracks and prepare learners for entry-level positions in IT
- Work closely with the Program team to identify learner needs and provide support
- Participate in recruitment events and recommended professional training programs
- Administer pre- and post-course survey and assessments
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 Years of teaching experience
- Current CompTIA A+ 1001 and 1002 certifications
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Work experience in information technology
- Ability to work with groups of varying ages, skills level, and socio-economic backgrounds
- Start instruction in Spring 2022

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
