General Description:  

We are seeking a skilled Higher Education Solutions Analyst to join the K16 team, with additional reporting to the Central Office of Enrollment. In this newly created full-time role, the Solutions Analyst will focus on the technical aspects, ensuring seamless functionality and efficient processes of multiple technology systems, web services and web apps. Additionally, as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance student experiences, K16 is developing a universal online dual enrollment application that will streamline the admissions process for 19 CUNY campuses. The Solutions Analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Student Admissions, CIT, and program teams for multiple K16 and CUNY initiatives. They will also support building, leveraging and adapting existing systems to support a variety of CUNY teams who perform data gathering, analysis, and discovery which can include support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions within applications or utilities within management cycles. Performs database testing and data performance investigation ensuring the quality, accuracy, and security of the data gathered and stored in a database.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Functional Excellence: Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to understand functional requirements and translate these requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment with project goals. 
  • Solution Design: Designing and implementing technology solutions that enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, and support the institution's mission. 
  • Systems Integration: Integrating various software systems and related tools, such as student information systems, learning management systems, and financial systems to ensure the smooth operation and integration of multiple technology systems, web services, and web applications. 
  • Technical Support & Implementation: Work closely with developers and system administrators to implement and configure new or updated systems. Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure smooth integration with existing systems. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Student Admissions, CIS, and various program teams, to understand their needs and deliver effective technology solutions. 
  • Change Management: Facilitate change management processes related to the application rollout. Train end-users, provide documentation, and support adoption across campuses. 
  • System Development, Maintenance and Upgrades: Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions within applications and management cycles. Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and proactively address any technical glitches. Stay informed about industry trends and recommend upgrades as needed. 
  • Data Management: Leverage strong design and process skills to enhance user experiences and optimize workflows. Assist in building and adapting systems that support data gathering and analysis for CUNY teams. 
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Perform database testing and data performance investigations to ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of the data stored in our databases. Work diligently to meet project milestones and deadlines.  
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and collaborate with teams to implement best practices. 

OTHER DUTIES: 

  • Participates in integration activities and facilitates design sessions or code reviews. 
  • Ensures adherence to processes and guidelines. 
  • Evaluates hardware and software enhancements and develops recommendations. 
  • Collaborates with support and development teams to resolve issues. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree equivalent in a related field and five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered. 
  • Information Management, Computer Science, or any closely related field with working experience using Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2, and Oracle SQL.   
  • Proficiency in web services, APIs, and web application development 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proven experience in systems integration, application development, or a similar techno-functional role. 
  • Strong understanding of database management systems and data quality assurance processes. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Familiarity with K16 education systems or community college processes is a plus. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Strong communication skills, both independently and in teams. 
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities. 
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and staying updated with emerging technologies and skilled in problem identification, root cause analysis, and innovative solutions. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules. 
  • Understanding of PeopleSoft architecture and development tools/suite and related technologies, with familiarity with all phases of the SDLC and resolving production issues. 
  • Preferred knowledge of CUNY technical systems and enrollment processes. 
  • Ability to collaborate and troubleshoot across teams while knowing how to build relationships to understand business requirements and document enhancements. 

Physical Demands and Environment Requirements 

  • This is a 70/30 hybrid position, subject to change. Remote work arrangements are not a right or entitlement of employment and, as such, are discretionary and subject to operational needs unless otherwise provided by the CUNY Flexible Work Guidelines. Laptop may be provided if needed to support working remotely. 
  • While performing these duties, the employee is required to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting items (up to 20 pounds), bending, reaching, sitting for prolonged periods of time.   • Ability to travel to other CUNY sites as needed.
