General Description
The Research Foundation/CUNY seeks a professional who has experience in property development, financial analysis, and planning. The professional will be working with the Director of Public/Private Partnerships on the University’s efforts to develop public private capital projects across its 21 campuses. These public private projects will enable the University to capture the value of its land assets by selling excess air rights for private use as well as harnessing the efficiencies of private market development to create academic and residential facilities for the Colleges. The candidate should have experience in capital budgeting, site selection, land acquisitions, and financial analysis or any satisfactory combination or related experience.
Other Duties
Manage public private project opportunities on CUNY campuses.
Work with consultants and Colleges on site selection and planning.
Assist in selection of developer and consultant teams including preparing and issuing RFPs, conducting interviews, analyzing proposals, and negotiating agreements.
Qualifications
Interested applicants should have experience analyzing and/or managing complex real estate and/or financial transactions. An understanding of public land use processes and real estate development are also preferred, but not mandatory; as well as, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple constituencies and manage complex interdisciplinary projects.
Applicants must have a Masters degree in urban/city/regional planning, architecture or related field and a minimum of 3 years professional planning or related experience. Experience working in New York City government, or at other levels of government; or experience working with Higher Education is strongly recommended.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
