General Description
Job: Tutor for Grades 7 -12
Responsibilities:
- Assist with assignments in grades 7-12 Math or ELA and/or high school Regents subjects (Subjects can differ based on tutor specialties.);
- Work with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom;
- Encourage the students in the learning processes;
- Explain or answer questions about the different topics;
- Provide additional support to the students;
- Prepare individualized lessons based on the needs and interests of the students;
- Meet regularly and punctually at agreed-upon meeting times.
Other Duties
Payment: $17/hour. Sessions are scheduled and based on demand; There may be opportunities to host study sessions for Regents or final exams, etc.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Tutoring/teaching/mentoring experience is preferred but not a requirement;
- Proficiency in Math, ELA, and/or Regents subjects;
- A “can do” positive attitude that will encourage your students.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
