Job: Tutor for Grades 7 -12

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with assignments in grades 7-12 Math or ELA and/or high school Regents subjects (Subjects can differ based on tutor specialties.);
  • Work with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom;
  • Encourage the students in the learning processes;
  • Explain or answer questions about the different topics;
  • Provide additional support to the students;
  • Prepare individualized lessons based on the needs and interests of the students;
  • Meet regularly and punctually at agreed-upon meeting times.

Other Duties

Payment: $17/hour. Sessions are scheduled and based on demand; There may be opportunities to host study sessions for Regents or final exams, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Tutoring/teaching/mentoring experience is preferred but not a requirement;
  • Proficiency in Math, ELA, and/or Regents subjects;
  • A “can do” positive attitude that will encourage your students.
