General Description

Queens College seeks a part-time, Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. The assistant coach

will be responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization, development and

implementation of the NCAA Division II women’s program competing in the East Coast

Conference.

 

Other Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to, the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes;

coordination of film exchange; academic monitoring; travel logistics; individual instruction;

team training; player management; administrative duties; assistance with team non-competition

events such as community service activities, fundraising, and alumni events; and assist the head

coach in overseeing a program that abides by all NCAA, ECC, CUNY, and Queens College rules

and regulations. Upon arrival to department, coach must successfully pass the NCAA recruiting

exam, defensive driving course, sexual harassment class and first aid/CPR.

 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license, with a good driving

record. Strong preference will be given to candidates with at least two years coaching experience

at the collegiate level. The candidate should have a desire to pursue a career in coaching and

possess strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, computer/media

skills, knowledge of NCAA rules, established recruiting contacts and the ability to attract high

quality student-athletes. The candidate must have a flexible schedule and possess the ability to

work in a high energy, fast-paced and constantly evolving setting.

 

Salary: $3,000 (no benefits-9 month position).
